Abstract: A Warehouse Management System (WMS) is enterprise software that manages inventory and supply chain fulfillment operations. Modern WMSs are essential for optimizing warehouse processes, from order creation to delivery. A key aspect is reducing the path lengths for workers, enhancing productivity, and minimizing errors. Given the complexity of solving the shortest path problem exactly, approximating algorithms are commonly used, though they may be imprecise. This project aims to develop an efficient AI algorithm for goods picking to reduce workers’ workload and improve completion times, benefiting both employees and business operations by lowering labor costs and boosting effectiveness. The new features will be integrated into the WMS PinQuark system, leveraging AI advancements to automate and optimize key warehouse activities.
