Study Visit
- Composite Technologies Center of Excellence: The center, established by Sabancı University and Kordsa, was visited by top government officials, showcasing its role as a global technology exporter in composite technologies.
- Advanced Facilities: The center boasts AS9100 aerospace manufacturing quality certification and ISO 17025 testing accreditation, with state-of-the-art laboratories for mechanical testing, additive manufacturing, and advanced composite technologies.
- Innovative Projects: Highlights include the “Kartal” project for developing rotor blades for Turkey’s first domestically-developed helicopter, “Gökbey,” aiming to reduce import dependency and featuring a novel fiber-optic sensor system for real-time fatigue load monitoring.
- Strategic Impact: With 3500 square meters of laboratory space, the center is dedicated to reducing import dependency in automotive and aviation industries through the production of composite materials, employing a significant number of faculty, researchers, engineers, technicians, and PhD students.
