TEXTRACK
OPEN CALL 1 | INNOVATION SUPPORT
Name: Real Time Fabric-Trolley Tracking and Movements Analytics for Textile Dyeing Factories
Decision support systems | Supply chain management
Abstract: The TEXTRACK project aims to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the textile manufacturing process through digitization. Despite the textile industry’s significant contribution to GDP and job creation, it lacks digital material tracking during the manufacturing process, leading to planning inefficiencies, process delays, and resource overconsumption.
TEXTRACK combines an indoor location system and a data analytics platform to track material movements within textile plants and analyze this data to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. The project involves three partners: Amper S&C IoT, providing IoT expertise for deploying indoor tracking devices; Eliar Elektroniks, contributing Big Data and analytics capabilities; and Mayteks, offering industry experience and facilities for pilot testing. TEXTRACK addresses Industry 4.0 challenges, including decision support systems, smart logistics, and supply chain management, by enabling real-time material tracking and route optimization. Innovations include utilizing existing WiFi networks for location tracking and integrating this data with advanced analytics to improve production processes. The pilot test at Mayteks’ facilities has achieved TRL7, demonstrating the solution’s applicability in optimizing textile manufacturing and its potential for broader industrial use.
