Abstract: The ROSBIQI project, a collaboration between ROVIMATICA and LATONES DEL CARRIÓN, aims to address the need for objective inspection solutions in the manufacturing industry by leveraging advanced analytics and AI-based decision support systems. Traditional manual inspection methods are subjective and error-prone, leading to quality issues. ROSBIQI proposes an innovative solution using Robotic Process Automation (RPA), computer vision, and AI to automate and improve the inspection of brass specimens. The system captures images, detects imperfections, and grades materials accurately and consistently. Initially at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5, the project aims to reach TRL 7 through validation in an operational environment. The solution features a mechatronic system with a two-axis Cartesian table and gripping tooling, ensuring precise specimen movement for high-quality imaging. Targeting industries requiring objective inspection, ROSBIQI is expected to enhance product quality, reduce inspection costs, and improve productivity and worker safety by mitigating the drawbacks of manual inspections. This project promises to revolutionize metallurgical inspection and extend its benefits to other processes and materials.
